Blimey, that's bad. Presumably they were replaced under warranty? My LG LiPo batteries are guaranteed to still have 90% capacity after 15 years.

Their EV's appear to have a decent reputation regarding battery life and they also supply batteries for several other car makers, including Tesla.

They claim to keep costs down by making substantially more of their car components in-house than their competitors. They're not particularly low-priced compared, to say, Tesla.

It's a waaay too long and painful story but basically NO, and because 'new' batteries won't talk to old invertors or the BMS it was a full strip out and replace everything except the roof panels, additional external earthing and upgraded proper mains whole house smoke alarms to comply with the latest PAS 63100:2024 recommendations
