It happened to mine, plus a couple of other GDi's I know. You're right Dave - Keith at BHM cranked it over for about 15 seconds and it fired up. It worked on the others too. I believe it was due to unspent fuel seeping down past the piston rings causing loss of compression. Cranking it over restored compression.


Great to hear something about the problem from my dealer, BHM. But I crank it a lot of times for more than 10/15 seconds.

After a „Bank Holiday“ in Germany today the next steps with a multimeter. And a „starter aerosol“. About brakecleaner: yes, it works. But some engines doesn‘t like it and it demages seal, rubber and plastic on it’s way.
