This can be caused by the bonnet catch closest to the bulkhead. Try undoing the catch but leave the front one done up and the bonnet should sit away from the body. Take ot for a drive and report back. Nothing will go anywhere you can do 1,000s of miles like that. There are a few alternatives if that doesnt work
