All good advice so far. To add to the list of reasonable quality tools, I'm a bit fan of Teng Tools stuff, and I also have a set of Halfords combination spanners with a ratcheting ring which I find extremely useful. A reasonable torque wrench is good to have. Not needed very often, but when it is, it's invaluable.
