Clopidogrel is prescribed as the blood thinner, but at my check over yesterday, the Consultant was filling me in with more detail. This medication is inert until it gets into your liver. Your liver converts it into compounds which can then affect the blood. Research is showing that around 30% of Caucasians do not have the required gene, and so without this, Clopidogrel is not activated in the liver.
Thank you for that, Dave. I'm on them so I shall be asking the surgery about it. My BP does seem to be OK however, last reading was 129/63.
