Thanks cooperman , that makes sense to me now! My car is 14 now so am thinking of changing from factory to alloy before the coming failure and I'm starting to feel a little more reassured.
The American market seem to use chinese made options at roughly half the price and seem fully satisfied with them.... They don't make a duratec plus 4 option though! Mulfab say the failures are due to bad installations but I will be fitting it myself so I'll make sure that stress wise I'm satisfied before I call it fitted. It seems its the only available option anyway.
Any more of you with experience telling of your experiences with the current version would be most welcolm!
