One aspect that is perhaps not discussed as often is the dwindling pool of drivers who know how to operate a manual transmission. In Sweden (and elsewhere I think) it is possible to get a license for "automatic only", which is easier to learn hence faster hence cheaper. About 40% of new Swedish drivers take the "auto only" option and that number has been steadily increasing. During a visit to the factory in Malvern earlier this year I met a very nice chap by the name of "Cousin Nick" who informed me that the vast majority of Plus Fours are sold with automatics, partly with resale value in mind. So, even if future generations of young hipsters value the analogue experience of a trad Morgan or other classics (together with film cameras, vinyl record players, manual typewriters and, what, fax machines?), they may simply lack the physical or legal ability to drive them.
