I would have tended to agree with you, and I was always (within reason) an advocate for 'loud pipes saves lives' when on a motorbike. However, whether it's the silly season or just the tourists on our local roads, we have had a few near misses of late in Sue's 'must be invisible' car. On two occasions they were looking directly at us as they pulled out of a side junction, forcing us to take evasive action with no recognition on their part or apology for their error. I do wonder whether recreational drugs are influencing driving behavior these days. So I'm not sure a few shinny bits (with the exception of attracting magpies ) will make that much difference in the vehicle recognition spectrum these days.
