So, lets look at the new-ish `edition column to Miscellany by Gary Pearson of MMC (News from MMC). He's banging on about how important the heritage owners are and how MMC are upping their game especially for classic owners and how they intend to be a parts supplier and manufacturer of excellence concentrating on those difficult to obtain parts. Is this just all hot air again? And perhaps this 75th do! is another example of The MSCC involving themselves too much with MMC and allowing ourselves to be steered by them and their choice of how they run things and who they engage to do it for them. They might make the cars but we buy them and it does feel a bit like the MSCC are being moved around by the tail!

Now while I have carried my soap box to an appropriate place here's something else I'm not to comfortable about either. MORGAN SPORTS CAR CLUB INSURANCE, or should I say Peter James insurance. Nothing wrong with Peter James insuring your car if that's what you want but this association MSCC have made with them and the fact that we are all being encouraged to use them through the club communications is IMHO wrong. We are all adults with a few years under our belts and can make our own choices and policy arrangements. Yet MSCC are telling us what a great deal they have struck with Peter James and how this will benefit us by using them. Mmmm..... well we can make are own choices thank you. So many MSCC members have put them to the test and their quotes are quite frankly extortionate compared to the opposition.
Now here's the real sticking point for me..... In MSCC Miscellany we have been asked to support this association with PJ insurance as it financially helps the club!

HOW, Especially as we are now in another vehicle related controversy re. car finance commission payments. and compensation payouts. Does anyone know how it financially helps MSCC to be using it's club to push this company as the chosen one over other specialists. The drop in other insurers advertising in the publication would perhaps indicate that they are a bit peeved that MSCC have taken this route and of course that will reflect in advertising revenue for MSCC....Won't it!

I could go on but I'm finding everything in the world these days to be extremely depressing! As a minion you can only hope that collectively the tide will eventually change for the better. However I don't have the time left to hopefully see these changes happen so I tend to retract into a smaller safer world where I still have choices but sadly I can now see that the greed machine has its tendrils touching absolutely everything and everyone, ever more invasive than I certainly thought possible. industries within industries purely set up to extract the cash and taxes on taxes.. reading some of the previous sentiments here I too am starting to believe that I may need to retract even further from the areas where I previously found solace. I think that when Dave Wellings announced that he was finishing contributing his maintenance column in Miscellany I started to reflect on my little world and as has been previously said just moments ago this started me questioning why I retain membership both nationally and locally. Where do I belong?, where do I get support and satisfaction, where can I help other Morganeers.... Well Its talk Morgan isn't it!

Final thought..... How far could Talk Morgan go if all of us disgruntled MSCC members started paying our annual subscriptions here instead of MSCC....... just a thought!
