I read somewhere that the Taycan issues were caused by a change in adhesive used to seal some parts of the electrical system?
But I'd presumed that Porsche were recalling them and fixing them, On a recent trip to Scotland I spotted at least 5 or 6 being driven, I kept pointing them out to 'er indoors because I rather like the look of them and they do them in some decent colours. Not that I've got any chance of affording one though.
My niece has a Taycan, which unlike my Tesla, she had to back to the dealership for upgrades to the software, I think the initial "do not drive" edict may have been down to flexible brake pipe routing...?
As for the price of buying a pre owned Taycan, say coming back to the dealership after a 3 year lease deal, given the huge depreciation it seems they may be suffering...? However the maintenance and cost of Porsches, has to be factored in... often referred to by owners as the Porsche tax causing many Porsche owners to seek out local Porsche specialist garages. I tend to thing that independent specialists keen to take on Taycans may be few and far between..?
As for Porsche parts availability going forward...?
If you watched the German news channel vid, it seems regardless of the much wider appeal of Porsche as a vehicle will ever find a buyer, but as has been typed all the confusion by on then off regulatory changes have truly messed up manufacturing in the West, along with the Trumpets on and of then on again strategy, fouling everything up.... The winners seem likely to be the Chinese.... How dumb is that..? Remember saying at the time when watching the news report when Clinton anointed China with Americas most favoured nation status, that he had sold out America`s industry....And if a simple chap like me found that all to obvious, it seems the brains in the game went mad in the dash for cash, coining the term Greed is good..Sigh !
