Your point about E10. E5 is the better fuel if you are leaving it in the tank for a couple of months. Otherwise, on these modern engines and fuel systems, I would be surprised if they make any difference. On my old carburettor motorbikes and lawn mowers, I only use E5. I've found it takes longer to go off than E10 and there's less ethanol to upset the fuel lines and o-rings.
