Kevin, the chap who rebuilt what was to become my Trad +8 reinforced the underside of the hand formed alloy front wings, not only under the sidelight/stay mounting point, but glued rubber matting to the area where stones can hit hard enough to deform the alloy and cause star like cracking of the paintwork..
