From a very dull memory, Of the two switches I thought one had it`s internal contacts Normally Closed (NC) and the contacts other switch mounted alongside were Normally Open (NO) although both switches are externally identical...?
Happy to be corrected if that is wrong info..
That is correct.
Craig is also correct. The NC switch is for the brake light. The NO (Normally open) is an ECU input. I carried spares of both for my 2014 4/4.
Many thanks for confirming the difference between the two switches Paul, I always had a poor memory, which has not improved with age.... I suspect those switches will be available from RS, the yellow label on the pic Craig posted looks like one of theirs...?
While cleaning and lubricating the plunger can seem ideal, oil is an insulator and may cause issues if it gets onto the internal contacts.... Very unlikely....BUT..?
I just put the part number into RS and tripped over this switch. there will be a different part number for the other switch one being NC and the other being NO..
