Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions.
Got the part this arvo from a local auto electrical place and fitted it. All is working well.............at the moment!
However, I've popped the mutimeter into the car for now and if it should happen again I can do a bit of sleuthing!
as it could just still be the starter at fault.
