John, Over the 4 years that Ann & I have been MSCC Members, I have written to said Editor on numerous 'non technical' occasions and have never received any acknowledgement or publication of my requests. Two Different 'Dear Charles' items, the second of which I sent at least twice. ( A request for MSCC Members who owned Roadster 100's to make contact with me)

When I was planning my Sponsored Around Britain Trip my request for a Miscellany fundraising notice to members was also ignored, despite numerous requests for it including one nudge via the Chairman. (a request also ignored by the majority of the Center Secretaries I wrote to.) I did however eventually receive a line on the subject in the Eds report, alongside one for the the guys from Kent doing a Charity Le Jog.

A small paragraph and one of my photos would have been more productive when other more verbose contributors get multiple pages on their 'outings' and in one case, was even extended over two months. Fortunately, my colleagues in the Register have had more success with our Waddesdon Day Ads, where we have been well supported.

This level of determination is for me 'unknown' as I usually work on the principle of 'Once Ignored, then Stuff Em' which is where I am with Miscellany ( and certain ignoring members of the Center I once joined ).

It was only my interest in Promoting the Roadster 100 Register and Our Fundraising for Help for Heroes which gave me the extra impetus. I certainly will not be bothering again. We bought our Morgans for the car.

I also sent in an article, no doubt it was very boring and of no interest, but nonetheless I would have expected a "thanks, but no thanks" response. What I got was absolutely nothing.

Not so bothered whether it was published or not, but a few lines would have been courteous and taken two minutes to write.

I am not really understanding why they do not add all input to the monthly Mag, whether rubbish reading or not, a thicker magazine would certainly give me more time to sit on the Loo

Still quite new to Morganeering and MSCC, but I'm not really stimulated by Miscellany (mainly for the reasons already cited above) and doesn't even pick it up.

There are exceptions, I read DaveW's column (because it is informative), the Chairman's report (because he might ask us if we've read it at the next Noggin!) and the various adverts. But many of the articles are sadly a bit of a

Miscellany could and should be a much better publication, and it deserves to be so.
As the contributions to TM amply demonstrate the technical knowledge base and enthusiasm is out there to support a first rate, vibrant publication. Who knows, with just a little more contributory effort from MMC in supporting technical queries and listening to feedback in Miscellany, we could even all reap benefits in product quality and development...

A couple of years ago there were a lot of comments on another email reflector, with the above even being discussed an at NCM I believe. Allegedly the lack of response to submitted articles was 'fixed' together with lack of variety of articles.

I use 'allegedly' for a very good reason...

Miscellany reading for me is mainly Tony Oliver's comp sec column plus any motorpsort snippets...

I was amused by one article in Nov '12 Miscellany: "The Incomparable Morgan". Nice tongue in cheek response to recent motoring mag reviews. Otherwise I tend to agree. The advertising supports the club I guess.

Don't tell anyone but it is the identical article that was printed in the TVMOG newsletter some months ago. A big surprise to hear via mogtalk that it had been printed in Miscellany.

Enjoy it, Steve, it is a good article with great pics of how you car painting was produced.

Also, that is a nice TVMog article in this months newsletter on Alternative Brighter Bulbs, well worth sharing here I would certainly like to share it with the R100 Register Members if that is ok with you?
