Having answered that question, what is the opinion here on roll bars behind the seats? Nigel Morgans don't roll. That being said, roll bars are required for racing..as anything can happen on a racetrack. The problem I see most frequently with Morgan rear roll bars is that they do not extend above the heads of the occupants, though it has been scientifically proven that missing the top inch or two of one's head change one's hat size. I don't anticipate inducing a roll by my own driving, indeed I doubt I could. But in a dynamic collision things can be different, and having nothing higher than your head other than the windscreen frame doesn't inspire confidence.

Morning Nigel, my 'personal' solution to your problem is a 'Crash Helmet' - a classic peaked 'Motoring' helmet. I started to wear one after I was hit on the top of the Fore Head by a 'half brick' thrown up the double wheels of a lorry. Luckily, its' trajectory made it a glancing blow and I was wearing a woollen flat cap at the time; it provided a surprising amount of protection.Even then on a different road and traffic conditions, a serious accident could have resulted! Living further South, the 'Peak' is also good for keeping the sun out of your eyes. As a matter of interest, have MMC added this as standard on any of their models? If so, which ones and when was this safety feature added?
Simon, I had hoped there was a better answer than mine. Between 1991 and 1997 at least for the +8s. For my first +8 (December 1991) it was an option (about 200 GBP). For my second car (early 1997 Short Door +8) it was standard already. Roderich

Thank Lorne and Rod, TBH, I think this is a must have option for any Morgan due to the safety aspect alone. Sounds like the must have mod on a car without one and glad to hear the modern cars have them as standard.
