What better [front] brake pads are suggested for the standard 2011 3.0 litre Roadster brakes that will give more retardation please. Asking for a friend. I suggested EBC 'Green Stuff' as this material has worked well on my 4/4

Thanks PJB.

Peter, I can't really help because I've a standard Plus 4 set up, but this other thread may be of interest, MZ.

Thanks, seems that EBC 'Greenstuff' pads are often recommended - I find them good, so a good bet then! PJB

I ran a 2011 Roadster for 12 months and never had an issue with the standard pads, the initial bite was not as good as on the lighter 4/4 Sport but ok otherwise, and I didn't hang about.

Easter, excuse my ignorance - are they the same brake calipers on the '4/4 Sport' and the 'Roadster' then? If so why the difference in "initial bite"? Thanks PJB

Pedal feel could be different between models due to front weight of vehicle and they may use a different master cylinder.
I personally would reccomend a mintex pad and not use EBC items

Roadster is a heavier car 938kg v 4/4 Sport 795kg

Same calipers on my Roadster and 4/4, and as far as I can remember same master cylinder. Roadster alloys with 205 tyres were lighter weight wise than black wires with 165 tyres on the Sport but I'm not clued up enough to guess whether rotating mass effects braking performance, ie a Roadster with wires might be at further disadvantage than just the extra kerb weight alone. All that aside the first thing I'd look for would be grease contmination from the king pins and if that is the case you are going to need new pads anyway. Driving syle could be another factor, I like to brake late and hard and even in the wet I like to brake right up the threshold of grip
