How many points do they get for "Oh it's new. It's a replica then?" No points, that only shows they have paid the car some (little) attention.  No knowledge required

The guy's in the wrong job.
I'm teaching my own mechanic ! in two years he knows everything about classic Astons,Maserati's,Morgans and early 911's.  Ruud, that gives him a job for life.

Is it a kit car is a common question too. The question I dread is "what's it worth". My father gets that all the time in his 1911 Renault. It seems to be the only question some people can ask.

I have this problem with my 2cv at Mot time with the tester who is about 35
Year 1: Fail - Reason, corrosion of the coolant pipes - The car is air cooled, he was looking at the exhaust manifolds
Year 2: Fail - Reason, Passenger front door lock inoperative - I pointed out that you need to unlock them with the key first.
Year 3: Fail - Reason, headlights will not switch off. The tester managed to bust the light switch mid test with the lights on...
Unfortunately the place burnt down about 6 months ago (wasn't me Guv) and they currently can't do Mot tests so I'm going to have to start again with a new tester. I dread to think what they would have made of my Morgan!

I was talking to my mother's 40? y/old care worker on Tuesday evening and spoke of the battery on the rear shelf being a pig to get at . This woman comes out with " well they must be badly designed is'nt it time they built it correctly " then try's to tell me how they should be built, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR . She has never seen a mog in her life and almost ploughed into me at the r/about . I was in doubt should I shoot her or just feed her to the pig's .
