If you want better brakes after you've done the reaction bars and braided lines (which I agree are must-do items) then you might want to consider fitting 4-pot calipers rather than a servo.
Both have the advantage of increasing the braking effort distribution to favour the front wheels, the stock setup makes it too easy to lock the rears, but the 4-pot caliper option has 3 advantages over the servo route:
1. You lose a bit of weight, the alloy 4-pot calipers are lighter than the iron 2-pots 2. The 4-pots give a better braking feel 3. It's a simpler job, no need to plumb in a servo unit

Which Goodridge kit is recommended - they don't list model only year - is a 4/4 different from others re length, fitting etc or are they all the same? Or buy separate items e.g. from HoE?
I have a set of the correct EBC greens bought a year ago but not yet fitted (labelled as for an Austin Princess no less!).
Is it worth changing to silicone fluid too?

I am waiting on the delivery of Goodridge Pipes from Brakes4U (I ordered together with pads and shoes but they have arrived already...I used a discount code from the MX5 forum (s060104j) and got an additional 5% off (15% in total). The website link for the pipes was confusing as it stated Apr-04 but then realised that it was supposed to be "4/4" (my iPad Safari browser took me to a different version of their site that confirmed my idea). This is what has been ordered... SMN0302-3C Goodridge Stainless Steel Car Brakeline Kit BUT I guess I will know when they arrive and try and fit them!!

http://www.ebcbrakeshop.co.uk/files_ebc.v1 might help for pads. Try Melvyn Rutter for braided hoses. PJB

Think Automotive are used to supplying hoses and other bits for Morgans. No connection, but I've used them many times over the years dating back to the mid 80s.

It does not con form to existing standards laid down for normal road vehicles, if subjected to continuous flexing the stainless steel strands will eventually fracture and could penetrate the Teflon liner, how ever this eventuality does not occur within the normal life of a competition vehicle, this hose in common with all other components used on such vehicles should be regularly in - spected for signs of wear."

Hi Keith,
I am the owner of car 47. I want to upgrade as well with the stainless Goodridge hoses plus the green staff pads. Do you know the item number of good ridge pads for our cars now?
I saw some discussions regarding throttle bodies as well. Do you have some experience in between?
Thanks, Martin

Hi Martin, I purchased mine from www.Brakes4u.co.uk but sure there must be some retailers in Germany. Front EBC Green stuff pads - DP2243 Rear EBC Green stuff shoes - 6380 Goodridge Hoses - SMN0302-3C-CL (Clear with Goodridge Logo) As regards Throttle Bodies - I know several people that have them fitted and certainly seem to give power and torque (and noisier intake) but critical issue as discussed in so many threads is getting cold air to them. Ideally they should have a bonnet scoop to get the maximum effect and at around £ 3,000 a go not an inexpensive step. Either way you do need to have the exhaust end sorted first (4/2/1/ Manifold and Sports Cat). It will stay on my shopping list but quite a way down I fear.
