I agree with this. Sometimes there is a perception that a Morgan is an older (usually retired) mans car - and I mean no disrespect to those of you who are fortunate enough to be retired. And yet young people do like the look (the younger the more they seem to like it and the most enthusiastic admirers of my car are usually toddlers). For my part, I am in my mid 40's now and have loved Morgans since I was a teenager. But there are few young Morgan drivers around - and I don't think this is due to the cost as many young drivers can be seen in quite expensive machinery these days. Morgan is starting to be perceived as a more edgy, interesting brand, and that can only be a good thing.

If you look back at my posts from 2007, when I started the forum, that was very much my view then and it is still my opinion now. At the time I met with a lot of resistance from the minority traditional Morgan circles, with particular venom coming from certain, now defunct, sections of the Morgan community. By traditional, I do not mean 'traditional car' owners (although some were) but simply members of the community who were reluctant to embrace change and the need to attract a younger demographic.

With all that said, I believe attracting 30-sometimes to the brand (and product) needs to be handled with some flair and panache. This demographic is social media savvy and have grown up in an advertising hothouse (being sold to - aggressively - from day one). If the company begin to court this customer base, I believe it needs to be done in an intelligent and honest manner, playing on the true values and USPs of Morgan. It can be achieved but needs a clear vision and goal, otherwise it will have either no impact, or worse, could alienate the demographic who already are your customer base.

I think Morgan are achieving this. Bringing in Matt Humphries and re-booting the Classics with the Sport Line was step in this direction - the Sport line looked fresher, younger and yet curiously traditional and much the same ! And of course the three wheeler will bring in a whole new customer base. And there is nothing wrong with Kiera Morgan's article on the Morgan website, but I am not sure it takes Morgan any further forward in achieving this objective.

I do agree, it is a fine balancing act that has to be won. Young people today generally expect high quality products that work, and are easy to use. So getting a Morgan into this mind set is not necessarily an easy task, I suspect the majority expect ABS, power assisted steering, sat nav, heated electric seats and a service every 2 years as standard from a car they are looking to purchase.

Of course, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, and anyone who, more or less decides to pose with next to nothing on, will get some publicity, I certainly do not find Mrs. M overly attractive, sorry to say, even somewhat ordinary in appearance, and a little 'scrawny', which wouldn't matter one jot, except she is rather putting herself about. I'm sure she and CM are at ease with that, but I'm not sure it does the MMC image a whole lot of good, but, I've been wrong before.............

It apparently vacated these shores when we received some "incoming" so called "Reality Shows" about 20 years ago from Stateside - you clearly missed the Jet arrival and Departure carrying the associated "baggage" wink

I am now listening to the World Service online or Digital Radio, having found that listening to the Rottweiler in the morning causes an increase in blood presure and the urgent need to be fitting my recieving equipment internaly to said Humphrys preferably sideways on.

Television is now down to anything Attenborough, Formula 1 Grand Prix and Superbike Racing. On average probably an hour a week I guess.
