Long story short after my second battery only last 2 days it's come to my attention it's the rectifier/regulator.

anyone know or have any suggestions for it's replacement. my car is stranded at a carpark right now from last night so i don't have it in front of me to check the specs so i can call around to get a replacement.

any details or suggestions would be helpful as i'd like to get back up and running ASAP

I can't help I'm afraid Blake, but you have my condolences. My first thought on reading your post was "What a bu66er!'. I hope you manage to get it sorted soon. Keep us in the loop, the same could happen sometime.

If you need another rectifier, and your dealer isn't able to get one quickly, I am at the factory on Tuesday, collecting my new Three Wheeler, and I would be happy to collect one and post it on to you, so that you could get going quickly. No doubt, though, it will be under warranty and your local dealer will have to supply it. Nevertheless, bear my suggestion in mind, it really is very little trouble.

Is it a standard S&S fitted unit?

Car is getting towed to a s&s dealer/specialist as we speak. Decided to let the pros deal with this. Will keep you all posted.

I have had a similar issue recently. Battery went flat, cause traced to faulty rectifier.
This a known issue, especially with the original two point mount system.
S&$ people in NZ commented that standard unit was "delicate" and that a Harley unit would be more robust. This was put onto my M3W and adapted to suit the new three point mount.Cost same as stock unit better delivery on HD unit. Mind this is NZ at the end of the world !
I believe that another car in NZ has also had this issue and had the same repair

here are some scenes from today starting at the tow, then down to the S&S engine shop where they were testing all sorts of things to narrow down the culprit which was the stock regulator which they said probably had a bad cell which was causing it to under perform. I've also including a photo of the more robust, Harley Davidson regulator as well as a photo of the sku/part number from the package. going to bed now. will update everyone tomorrow.
