Graeme ,
This should bring a smile to your face . The B&B we stopped in at the w/end, when in our room we spotted a tiny see through bag with some contents in next to the tea and coffee , it had a tag with the following typed on .

An eraser to make all your little mistakes go away .

A penny so you will never be completely broke.

A marble for those days when you are sure you have lost yours .

A rubber band to help you stretch beyond your current limits .

A piece of string to hold it all together when things seem to be falling apart.

A sweet treat to remind you that someone cares for you.

We both thought how nice , the human touch , that tiny extra little bit of thought which is so so missing in todays society .

wine

JTL you were correct it bring a smile. I guess the beauty of finding something like that in your room is you know your hosts care about you their guest, not just you their income.

Welcome. I had a 1992 4/4 but now have 97 +4. I found the extra torque made driving more pleasurable

Thanks to everyone for the welcome and good advice.

I'll keep looking for the right car but they're like hens teeth. The other local dealer (Lifes in Southport) don't seem to have any stock except their demo Plus 4. Suppose i'm lucky though, to have two dealers within an hours drive.

I'll just have to put up with the MX5 for the moment :o) not a problem but once you get an idea in your mind, well, you know!

It irked me that the perfect (IMHO) spec Morgan came out after I had ordered my 4/4; the 4/4 75th anniversary model - the narrow 4/4 style with the 2 litre plus 4 powerplant. BHM have one for sale for a very reasonable price (if you can live with the custard paintwork). http://www.morgan-cars.com/bhm_preowned/2012-75th-anniversary-44-with-2-litre-engine/

The BHM custard pie would look a lot better without the matt black bonnet stripe and grille. A shiny grille and shiny wires would transform it, but then I'm a traditionalust...... wink

Is there much difference in driveability between the 1.6 & 2.0 Ford engines? On paper the doesn't seem to be much in it (0-60), but does he 1.6 need stirring up? Sometimes this can be more enjoyable, though.

This equates to AUD$50k and if in Australia would be gone in a flash.

I think the colour is Beeeeyoutiful laugh2

I paid 15% less than that for my 88 4/4. Why does import have to cost so much?

The 1.6 Sigma lacks torque low down and needs revving to get the best out if it. Nice smooth engine though that loves revving! The main issue I had with the 4/4 was the back axle ratio not suiting the car. The competition 4.1:1 axle is a far better match.
