I've just noticed that the side light bulbs and rear number plate lights glow dimly when the foot brake is operated with the ignition on. The brake light bulbs appear to light at full brightness and the front and rear side lights operate brightly from the light switch. I think there must be a poor earth on the brake lights and the bulbs are earthing through the 5watt (rear light) part of the 21/5 watt bulb then via the rest of the parking light bulbs. Has anybody seen this phenomenon or know where the rear brake lights go to earth? Car is a 2013 Plus 4 but I'm a bit loath to take it back to the dealership for such a trivial issue. Thanks for any advice offered.

Take it back to your dealer and get it fixed under warranty is my advice. +1, what might appear simple could turn out to be difficult, use the warranty

You are going to have to learn about your mog sometime so why not now , the longer you put off the harder it will be . Trace each wire back one at a time to an earth then make a mental note . You will need them in the future mogs are a pig for earths. It sounds like something simple buts its a I've done it myself warm feeling that leads you on to bigger things in the future. Go on have a go we all started out like you .

You have paid for the privilege of having a Morgan warranty ..... use it! You'll have plenty of time later in ownership to do things yourself!!

I'd also suggest the use of the warranty, but tell them you've discussed the issue on line, the subject of earths came up and you'd appreciate being shown where the problem is. Morgan dealers are a pretty obliging breed really.
That way, you learn about the car.

Thanks for the helpful advice guys. I'll check out the earth resistance with my old multi-meter and if the earth location isn't obvious I'll get it back to them but make sure I'm around when they hopefully fix it. Cheers.
