If you're thinking about, just get it. Collected mine today - superb. Will write more tomorrow.

And I shall be following S S Jays round Combe in a fortnight, hoping to see the ride difference (before he disappears into the distance !)

Saving my pennies hard to get Supplex before the end of the year.

All fitted. I'd rather comment more fully later as with new kingpins and bushes I think that they need to bed in a bit before I feel the full benefit of the Supplex conversion. That said, a run up the motorway shows that my shimmy has completely gone and the front end nodding is dramatically reduced.

Alan Foster's car looked very smooth out on track yesterday - although he did lock up the front nearside on his first three runs on approach to the 'split'.

At least he went round the track in the right direction!

Well, Bill should have known which way to go - he's been on Post 1 often enough in the past!

Finally I have fixed the (rather small) shimmy/shake 'problem'. It wasn't the the tyres as I previously thought but the rims. Two new front end rims has solved it. No shake or shimmy at any speed - just a big grin on my face. Steering perfectly smooth and calm...
Nothing comes for free though, but it's absolutely worth it. spend
Now I can really enjoy my Suplex conversion - and I do cloud9

I spend a fruitful few hours with Mike Duncan at his Martlebury garage on Friday (2 Aug 13) watching him fit the Suplex conversion to our 94 4/4. The king pins were Ok, he did remove the Blades and after about 3 hours the conversion was complete. The instructions were spot on, if the final setting up was a little over detailed, but Mike knew what was required.
We use our Morgan for social, domestic and fun. So what about the drive now. The drive is a 100% improvement from our point of view! The steering is lighter and you're not fighting it all the time. The ride although still firm is now comfortable on rough roads. You can run the cat's eyes with out leaving the road.
Coming back from Mike's I drove the car hard to test it. She corned well (I was actually in control) felt very stable at speed ("70 of course!") and no shimmy thro' 55.
So if you're thinking about it do it!

Photo of my Dads 1952 +4 Flat Rad fitted with Suplex suspension mod

works a treat, a lot more comfortable at the front with no steering shimmy and the handling seems to be the same as before the mod, will no more after driving it round Europe in September flag
