Hi, I have a non starting 1980 Ford Kent engined 4/4.
I seem to have traced the issue to the fuel pump not working and wanted some advice on where's best to order another? Do I buy the whole pump or just a rebuild kit? Does anyone know a good supplier for one?
Thanks

Buy the hole pump (cheap) - never seen a rebuild kit - assuming you still have the engine driven version. Make sure you replace the spacer/gasket too. Stops heat transfer to the pump (cheap).
Burton Power would be my choice of supplier. You need to match the pump to your block type (711M - most probable or 681).
Both under 30 pounds.
Simples. No link - just a satisfied customer.

Give your local parts shop a ring. While the Ford Kent is ancient, the pump you need is common to an awful lot of cars and it's not beyond hope they'd have one and get you mobile faster.
Depending where you are in Herts, I bet Uncle Melvyn has one on his shelf, although you may get it cheaper elsewhere.

Snailmog,
I blocked the mount on my Kent block and mounted an electric pump back near the fuel tank. Starts instantly after sitting for days, unlike the engine driven pump. Just a thought.

That would be my route, if the pump failed on RTA. Together with a pressure regulator in the line.

Thanks, I have a new mechanical pump to install for the rebuild but might go electric as I have one on another old vehicle.
