I have the benefits of both being short of stature and having a modern ("long door") car. So it's left leg in whilst putting bum on seat, then right leg in. From experience, getting in a short door car can be a "challenge" as can getting out, especially if the car is parked on an uphill slope. Definitely no grabbing the top of the windscreen though. Bud

For me its freefall in, left leg first, and gasp & groan out, right leg first................ But being short (and thin) is helpful.

I use the same method as Peter (Gambalunga)- left leg in with left foot on X member backside againt seat back then right leg in and slide down into the seat. Getting out - open door until door stays hold door open swing right leg our while swiveling, elbow on B post then heave upwards swinginging left leg out. Only slightly more effort than getting in

I replied to similar in a previous post. Haven't worked out how to copy here so... Roof down Left hand on passenger seat back Left leg in with right hand on wheel Lean over and xxx navigator Swivel my "personal cushion" round Drop into seat Get right leg in Roof up As above but lean further over to xxx navigator and bend MUCH more. Now.......... This applies to my regular navigator only so no offers please.

Being 6'3" bum in swing feet option only. Wide door makes it easier. Sospan reminds me of spending a night in a Series 2 on Exmoor with my girlfriend, now wife. Amazing what you can do with a bench seat and blow up cushions! Positions for getting in and out and etiquette? I do not think I will go there.

From driver side the procedure is right hand on tunnel and right leg in, bending the left knee as you do this. Then slide in. With practice it is done in one continuous fluid motion. Just like getting into a sleeping bag. Getting out is the hard part and I am sworn to secrecy in that matter.

I do wonder why no one has fitted a "quick release" steering wheel.
I had a ride in a Caterham and the removable wheel made getting in and out of the thing easy, despite its size.
Didn't like it at all, but that is another story.
