I did much of the same, expect I dispensed with the aluminium mud deflector completely and used penny washers with the original bolts. At the rear I made some drop hangers out of flat aluminium bar which I screwed to the wooden frame in a similar position to your steel bracket then attached these to the mudguard with 2 short lengths of the ali. flat bar. By using 1 bolt at each connection the whole thing articulates to take up any movement of the plastic mudguard relative to the swing arm and body. 1700 miles later, works a treat.
Pictures I posted previously, I have lost the sequence but I am sure you get the idea. I have subsequently upgraded the screws holding the rear bracket to the upper woodowrk to 6mm dia hex head coach screws for added security, and it looks better than cheap slot heads !
you have to wonder why Morgan didnt just make something like this in the first place. The hope would be they would see something like this and implement it in the future.
I did the v first mudguard mod! it seemed to me to be a logical solution to the the rear "compartment" being splattered in Mud/debris:((
I attached mine without the Ali guard - but using that guards front fixing. The Rear I screwed into the rear wooden frame using hex wood screws - it has stated in place now for over 3000 miles/one year:)))
M3boy - all credit - I fully admit to using your idea , as you posted on TM a while back. Today I just responded to Bigpops request for a repeat of the photos. From now on it will be known as the 'M3boy mudguard mod'
Sorry if I'm being dense, but whatever happened to the rear hatch compartment cover? Wouldn't that effectively accomplish the same thing....and more? Did it not make it to production?
