Hi Richard. I'll be reporting back on this thread with the results of the waterless coolant. And if it lives up to expectation, I will replace the glycol in the Max with this new substance.

Remember folks that this is a hand finished car, so comparisons on exact temps between cars from the onboard temp gauge may not be comparing apples with apples.
If the range of movement of the gauge is similar that probably tells us more than if the indicated temp is 105 or 120.
My s4 ran an indicated 90-120, the Aeromax runs 80-110. I suspect that in reality both are within a degree of each other and the instrument calibration is the difference...

A bit like the petrol gauge then. Should be a little symbol saying "any information given on the availability of petrol is intended for guidance and may go up or down in the future" 
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

No, really... Is somebody relying on those fancy gauges behind the steering wheel?
I thought they were just nice decorative things to make nicer the aluminium dash.
Mine are saying:
- Some gas in it (maybe)
- Floor pedal when possible
- Engine running or not
- Engine cold/hot

I'm sure they're many on hear who will be interested to hear the results. I've got the trial results back this afternoon and the results are outstanding!  The test car was driven through the city (stop-start) as well as a spirited drive along windy country lanes; and the needle stayed steadily on the Normal mark! Not once did the needle go past it! (It did with glycol...) I will now be changing the coolant [in the Max] to the waterless variety early next year!

The gauges and sensors are mass-produced items unlike body panels and interiors, so readings supplied by those components should be pretty well uniform across the model range. the small discrepancy you mentioned should be just that - small! I think though that as the Aero8 S4 and Max are mechanically identical, this minute difference (+/-1) can be "safely" ignored...

It's very much a "hit-and-miss" thing with owners! Surely someone must have thought of a way of putting that right by now???
