Hi Marcos, Rosie has had one off theses for nearly 3 years and I am very pleased with it, makes getting in/out easier and don't notice offset when driving along, only when manouvering to park or 3 point turn.

MK Holtztechnic, do 3 types off shelf, or you can design a special yourself for dials etc. Mine is off shelf. The indicator stalks at the time were source from Parks DE who take your originals and modify them fitting the new stainless stalks. These need careful fitting and adjustment before final fit of the dash to ensure they clear everything in all positions. The dash fit and dial repositioning is not to bad to do yourself just label each wire as you take off and instrument or bulb holder and draw a map of each instrument so you can easily put it back from where it came. If you have the Ford rocker switches the connectors come out the rear of the light one and push straight onto the new one in the appropriate position. The push start is easy to do but can be confusing as some looms seem to have slightly odd colour coding on the wiring that can confuse. The rear fog may be problematic, mine has a constant live via a relay and wiring the warning light with it means it can only be wired one way, or will never come on.

cheers

I was down at Williams this morning trying to get hold of a couple of exhaust clamps which are like hens teeth....the factory do not stock them! Whilst I was there I had a look at a batch of wheels just come in from MotoLita including the one I mentioned earlier with the deeper riveted rim. It really does feel more substantial and Williams have sold a few now. They'll be selling one to me if they can get Motolita to stain ebony black!

Hello Jay,

if you can´t get the stained steering wheel via Williams try MK in Germany.
Matthias did a fantastic job staining my "normal" light brown MotoLita-steering wheel into black.

(usual disclaimer.... just a very satisfied customer).

Kind regards,

George

Thanks for the tip George. I'm going to chat with Williams about it tomorrow.

Kind regards to you and your father.

Did I do right..? Legs are a little bit against the wheel in my car and the instrument view could be clearer so it seems to solve two problems I have. Anyone any experience of it?

Off set steering wheels through my back out, worst car I drove Citron DS3 took about 15min of a test drive had to hand the car back to the sales man for him to drive it.
Personally detachable is the way to go, it's like getting into the passenger side.
I'm over 6'3".
I used a Lifeline Quick Release Bolt-On coupled to a Moto-lita boss. But if I did it again would go for something like OMP Lightweight Bolt On Quick Release Steering Wheel Boss if compatible with Moto-Lita S/W. This would be because there are no splines to line up so fitment of the steering wheel is less fiddaly.

The boss had to be cut and shut which meant my S/W was in the required position for me with the seat full back (top S/W at my wrists) no stretching.

Cain, do I understand correctly that you were able to move the steering wheel further away from you? That is to say closer to the dash than standard.

If that is possible I would have to consider it myself as I have very long arms and such a mod would result in a bet more elbow room.

I have 145mm from the back of the steering wheel to the dash measured from the centre ring and at 90* to the dash.
There is a also a spacer removing would taking it down to 125mm but I think I needed that so the horn could work on the centre.
There is room to machine down the Moto-Lita boss some more.
I can dismantle S/W at weekend photo and measure if you like PM your email and I'll send over the info.
I would probably buy a weld on one to experiment and get rid of all the other bits and bobs second time around.

I'd like the wheel closer to the dash...with the seat "just right" for the pedals to get my upper body far enough away from the steering wheel I have to recline the seat more than I like.

If there is a good solution I'd like to know!
