Reg, Just been looking on Christopher Wards website, some very nice watches with good reviews. There are 2 in particular which I like the look of, Trident C60 and one celebrating the Vanwall win at Aintree in 1957 with a nice BRG face. There is also a version called Malvern which looks very classic and would suit the Morgan man to a T I feel.

Edgar 1969 4/4, Slip of the brain cells there, of course I meant Christopher not Clive. His watches seem to be very good value and the catalogue is nice to flick through. As most manufactures seem to be doing Blue this year, have a look at the "Bluebird" which is a limited edition to celebrate Malcolm Campbell. Should you choose to go this way, there are usually some good discounts direct from the factory, it might be worth registering with them to get the e-mails. Good luck.

I eventually bought the Trident C60-COSEC-SKK Ltd Edition from Chr. Ward. Its a lovely watch, and the service and delivery from Chr Ward's was excellent. In the same week during a private leaving dinner with our CEO I was presented with a Tag Aquaracer which was quite unexpected, I had been looking at Tags for a while so was very happy to recieve this one

Clipper,
You are correct. For the past 5-10 years one of the drivers of the high end watch business as well as other high end luxury products has been the China market.
With both legal and illegal gains rampant and money sent overseas, watches, luxury cars and apartments in Singapore and HK have been easy ways to launder ill gotten gains. Now, with Xi taking over and chasing crooked party members expensive watch's are no longer worn in public.
I just returned from Singapore(where my son lives) and HK (where I lived for 30 years) and newspapers report that luxury watch sales are down by 50%.
Not much point in buying an expensive watch and keeping it in the desk drawer!
