I sold my Vincent Black Shadow a year ago as Age was making it hard for me to dismount. I had vivid pictures of a bike and me in a heap somewhere!
Using part of the funds to finance the reconstruction ( and slight improvement )of a '52 +4. It should be as fast as my Shadow.

Hi Mike,

I see you are from Co Durham, a few years ago I saw a Brough advertised for sale in Trimdon, I think it was an SS80. I went to have a look at it and the vendor had 4 Broughs, all bought new by his granddad, and passed on to him via his father. The oldest one was in super condition, an SS100 and totally original, it had a RAC badge number 8 if I remember correctly, he said he had two Americans wanting to buy it and had been offered over £100k.
Alas I couldn't make a deal with him for the SS80.

Broughs and Vincents seem to have become the investors province with mega bucks being paid for both.Perhaps not surprising as both have always had a strong niche market. BUT the prices seem to know no limit at present!Bonhams must love em!!

Three years ago I sold a Vincent Rapide, and the last Black Knight produced through H&H Auctions, and just parted with a Grey Flash rep., the last of my stable, been riding Vincents since 1957, sadly now a bit long in the tooth for two wheels.
