Yes, I've seen them on a number of the cars coming out of the factory. They are stainless rods that stow away in clips fitted below the bonnet hinge.

Interesting. Another example of MMC catching up with third party suppliers.

I do believe that lacking anything that can be called an Accessory R&D Department the MMC simply watch the after market suppliers... Sometimes they "improve" or "re-engineer", sometimes not.

Mine also arrived on Saturday.

Not got around to fitting them yet but as I also have a Roadster I'm interested to see if I also have a clearance problem.

Finally got round to fitting my bonnet stays today. Lovely, quality bit of kit and a straight forward job following Cain's excellent instructions; thank you Cain.

Oh, straight forward on a Plus 4 that is wink

Totally agree, did mine as well. Fit well on my Plus 4. Really pleased.

I will fit rubber or neoprene blobs near the end section to prevent dings in the wing should I or a mechanic drop the stay by mistake.

Peter, how do yours attach to the bonnet catch? The ones Cain has requires me drilling out the rivets, can you attach a photo of the top point attatchment. Is the maker still around?

Hi Digimap
After seeing Peters post I have now revised a bracket for riveted bonnet latches.
