Graham, make sure you have a clear road ahead when you get to Melmerby. The best part of the drive starts there.

The A686 is also good north of Alston but if you're headed for Carlisle it'll take you a bit too far east. I assume you'll take the A689 at Alston?

Enjoy the drive!

Melmerby - noted Ken, thanks.
And yes, will turn NW again at Aslton, though if there is time I may take another look at the narrow gauge (and a cuppa!).

J, thanks! You all have a safe trip to the races thumbs

Keith, with that sort of offer, I might just spin down one sunny day in the 4/4 grin2

Just back from a 1000 mile round trip of the Welsh coast and Marches. 10 different hotels in 12 nights. Only had the hood up once for half an hour. Absolutely glorious.

If there is a better drive than the Ring of Kerry in a Morgan with the sun shining - hope I see it

Went to Harpenden for the annual BUPA medical. Out at 6:30 to miss the traffic through Hemel Hempsted.Hood down side screens off.

After the joys of the old prostate check it was excellent to escape and drive back in the sun.

Fabulous ! Lovely photos.

Did you make it out to the Skelligs ? (not in the Mog, obviously). When we tried (years ago when I was a kid) it was too rough to get off the boat. The thing I best remember about the Kerry coast was the gannets diving for fish.

A shortish but lovely run out on Saturday for me. A local non-profit organization I'm involved with had a strategy workshop session all day, in a beautiful spot at the foot of the Niagara escarpment west of Toronto. Our host, a sculptor, knew a thing or two about LBCs (North American acronym for Little British Cars) and was fascinated by the Morgan; he'd never seen one in the flesh before. Offering him a quick blast around the surrounding countryside was a wise move: as a long-time resident and old-car enthusiast he introduced me to a new road or two in the area. One of them is (almost) on the way to a regular destination so will become a detour of choice, I suspect!
