Took delivery of a new +4 only 5 days ago. The knob on top of the quick release handbrake (the one you press down to lock hand break on) appears to have popped off the top of the hand break shaft, still closely connected but cannot get it to go back over the shaft in order to put, and leave the handbrake on. Have tried turning it but do not know if there is a position the knob has to be in to fit over the shaft again. As it is a new car do not want to use brute force if there is an easy answer. Have done a search to see if this problem covered elsewhere but have found nothing. Any advice please as am on holiday in France and miles to any Morgan garage.

Had the same thing happen the other day: knob wouldn't get pressed to lock the brake, as is was almost unscrewed all the way out.
Tou sply have to a screw it back in fully, without using brutal force.

Popped off on my three wheeler within weeks of purchase. I'm with Vladimir, just screw back on, snug.

Many thanks for advice. The knob/button has not come off but popped off the end of the handbrake shaft. However, from your replies it should just slide back down the shaft if I can centralise it (which difficult at 0030 am after a good dinner). Ruut, thanks your sentiments but I bought new because I had hoped to have had more than 5 days before initiation into real Morgan ownership. Reality now prevails.

Many thanks and minor problem fixed. Unscrewed button at top which gave room to centralise it over shaft and it slipped back into position. Can now park on a slope again

With all you knob experts out there, perhaps you can help. I am missing the quick release handbrake knob completely on the Plus 8 I am currently converting to gasoline. A nut has been fixed in it's place. Doesn't really work. Is there a replacement available? Thanks

It seems you can only as part of a larger assembly...see here. I suggest a call to Phil at Brands Hatch Morgan or Graham at Melyvn Rutter; I suspect that they might have one.
