Hi, all. I need some help with a wiring problem (2003 4/4). A recent loss of all sidelights showed that all my sidelights, front fogs, number plate lights and cigar lighter work off the same fuse. Since I'm about to add a map light to the unused feed from the cigar lighter I'm concerned about overloading the fuse. I thought a good solution would be to separate the cigar lighter (and map light) onto a fuse of their own. Do any of you have any experience/advice of such a job? Any help would be most gratefully received. Thanks.

The cigar lighter is usually rated at 10amp as it is a heavy load. Your map light would not be anything like that and if it is an LED it would be in micro amps.
You could run a separate fuse but the existing fuse would be fine.

Thanks, Titus. I know there's an led option for the map light, so perhaps I'll take that route.

Good idea to move the cigar lighter (oh, err, accessory socket grin2 ) to a separate fused supply anyway Roger.

Seems like an interesting challenge since the gomog-supplied wiring diagram doesn't quite match the reality of my car - only to be expected, I suppose.

The unused lead from the cigarette lighter is used by Morgan when they install the optional map light.

Fitted my Holden chrome map light yesterday using that feed. Still might isolate that circuit onto its own fuse.
