How often does everyone grease the sliding pillars? I grease mine every 600 miles.

I grease the sliding pillars after a wet or very dusty drive, but normally it is done every 5/600 miles or so.

Sold my 2002 +8 with about 36000 miles on clock with original king pins. Greasing done from remote greaser every 1000 miles, I always try to grease after a journey when suspension is warm.

How often does everyone grease the sliding pillars? Every 1000 miles Ditto! Likewise, but in very wet conditions I may give an extra shot or two.

Generaly every 600 miles (1000 km) with the damper blades and the 3 prop shaft neeples. except : for long journey (1700 km) of several days when not at home,or fewer due to bad roads or rain if at home.
At the moment 23 kmiles with Devol bushes, acceptable, no shimmy at 90 km/h and 130 km/h which are generaly the critical speed for vibrations.
I have a 4 pods car lift and an air grease gun. More easy.

I've done about 48,000 miles, also with Devol bushes. I grease roughly every couple of thousand and always use moly CVJ grease. Gerry.

My 2004 plus 4 was the factory prototype fitted with stainless steel king pins and Devol bushes. The car has 58,000 on the clock, it has just gone through the MOT and I was advised that the kingpin wear is at 50% one side, 60% the other and a fail is at 100%. Was thinking like others of changing to hard chrome kingpins and grooved bronze bushes as these seem to be highly rated. To be honest it looks like the Devol bush set up is hard to be for longevity which makes you wonder why more people are not choosing it.
