You've only got to look at the offside real wheel to realise that everything is not well at that end of the car. Mind you perhaps Chip Away can have it sorted quickly!

Guys,
I'm glad I've read this. I was so so close to buying this car yesterday. He paid £12k for it direct from the insurance company, he said I could have it for £13,500. I've spoke to Revolutions in Perth and they were really really helpful without looking at the car. I'm no mechanic but I have repaired run of the mill cars in the past. So, I guess, I couldn't do this in my garage!? I thought I could do this with bolt on parts as such, I'm thinking steer clear now. I'm desperate for an Aero 8 but I don't have the funds to buy a non damaged car.

That is why the insurance company scrapped it.

Thank you for the information.
I have my doubts that the seller is a genuine guy. The car runs and will engage the gears. I don't know a thing about Aero's and I was relying on the seller as he states there is no chassis damage. Strangely Revolutions said from the photos I provided them with they would estimate the repair to be £10,000.

If no chassis damage and you could do all the work yourself bar a £2.5k paint job, then my guess would be nearer £15k. But remember you have a car worth half the market value due to the insurance clarification.

I've also been looking at this car and the numberplate seemed familiar. Then when I saw the pictures on eBay it seemed odd that a 2007 car (a S3) would have the fuel tank mounted behind the rear seats (there should be space). Now, does anyone remember the weird hybrid S3/S4 which was discussed on here when it came up for sale - a car previously used by a track experience company and one which had a gaping hole for cooling under the numberplate? This is the same car. http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/195273/Does_anyone_know_this_car#Post195273So, it may not be an easy fix given it straddles (badly) between the S3 and S4 models.

Ahh, that would explain why there were no smoking stickers all over the interior cabin, the seller has now removed these.
That's a shame, I was getting myself all excited, by the sound of it, it's beyond me.

Why not get an independent inspection done? You could waste £250 but you could find it just needs a couple of tow links to get the wheels straight, £1k to replace two alloys and only need that chassis leg (see pictures from front to see that) bent back (could be simple, could be replaceable, could be a waking nightmare to do).
Right now though, I'd be more worried about the history of the car ahead of the accident and the problems you'd potentially encounter trying to rebuild a non-standard car.

If its one and the same it should be chassis J0427 registered VX07GHA and when for sale in August last year had 6 spoke silver alloys/polished rims now graphite/black buckled? New £330 a pop from factory. Whilst advertised as 4.4 litre it was originally MMC development car and had 4.8 litre lump fitted by them and tin snip modifications to Superform wings to create upper vents. It had 20,000 miles on the clock then with a goodly number on some very smooth tarmac! Refer Aero Register and look up record there and PM me if more info needed
