Very close to that now with the 20 mph speed limits spreading in all our towns and villages.

Most of which are just revenue traps. They might as well be honest about it and put in a toll gate swear

Makes Dick Turpin look like a dilettante.

My small village just went 20 mph. I am happy to be proven wrong but it has resulted in more problems and traffic. As you have to crawl past the parked cars on the narrow streets it takes ever longer to get through. This means people waiting longer in the little gaps, more "pushing" to force through gaps in streams. In general the previously polite town traffic is becoming rather irate around school time. So they accelerate harder through the gaps. That worked well then....

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

If you set your cruise control to 20 mph in a restricted zone you very soon get a lot of people very close up behind you looking very angry.

Many of them, I dare say, live in those areas and were the ones who pushed for the limit in the first place.

[Not sure how you'll stand in court contesting a speeding ticket in these cars which in theory will not allow you to ever speed!]

You are always guilty, even if you are innocent.

Well it's only partially successful with HGV speed limiters - going downhill the driver just puts the truck in neutral and 90mph is no problem, (can't think of any other way for them to flash past me so quickly when I -ahem- am obeying the speed limit)so just think of the cash we will all save in coasting beyond any such limits.
Personally I think this is just another scare from those who want the uk to leave Europe.

I get that in a 30 zone (even measuring speed with a GPS)!

I can think of at least one village where there was local pressure to install a camera for road safety purposes because the villagers were fed up with non village traffic breaking the limit. The majority caught over the limit, some 70% + in the first few months, turned out to be villagers...

Exactly the same happened in our N Yorks village, when police came and used a laser gun - mostly locals were caught.

I have no issue with limiters as long as they work and are correct. Oh and as long as they don't apply to me on the B1257 Helmsley road, spoiling my fun!
