If the dealer is several hundred miles away and you need a repair, where do you go? Indie motorcycle shop? Local mechanic?

You have not said what model you have? What age of car? An older +8 has very few requirements that a competent local garage mechanic would find a challenge where a later model with a Ford or BMW engine has very different requirements due to the on board diagnostic system and engine management. The rest is basic nuts and bolts, very simple brakes, steering and suspension. There are Morgan 'tweaks' that should be done at regular intvals and anyone servicing these cars would benefit from a couple of hours reading various internet pages on the subject. Finding a garage that 'care', really care, is the clue. Treat it with care and it will reward you.

I think Wayne is talking about a 3-Wheeler, Colin? In which case I'd go to an independent bike shop that knows S&S motors, nothing else on the car would be problematic for a decent mechanic?

Totally agree, if its a Harley based unit he is probably in the best place on the planet to understand their needs, any bike mechanic that knows the twin cam Harley unit would know the tweaks of the S&S.

I have had very good luck taking mine to a custom chopper mechanic. One look at the S&S was all he needed.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

I spoke to two Harley dealers about my S&S.

They both were polite but clear ...".we do not touch them sir"!

So yes the specialist/customisers is the way to go IMO

Even in the UK!

Thanks. No ownership yet, but love what Morgan has done. Have owned BMW /2's, Ural side car, Ural side car rig, Kaw W650, Triumph Bonneville (1970 and 2007), Harley Springer classic, etc.
Concerned about keeping Morgan running without dealer. Not much of a mechanic myself.

There is a local S&S dealer a mile or so from my house and the dealership is over 60 miles away. I have had no issues taking it to the S&S dealer for what I have needed.
