At Mog MMX in Buxton, our 1985 car was the DonMog entry in the pitstop challenge. I swapped my shiny new centre nuts back to the old ones on the front to save the chrome from a number of wheel swaps. Arriving at Buxton and finding that the ladies team (The Bakewell Tarts) were up first, I quietly set to to loosen the nuts a tad. Could I shift them - I could not. The (then) 25 year old nuts had self tightened on the drive up to Buxton to the point where it took a fair wallop to shift them. Later in the day, I refitted my shiny new nuts and no further issues.

Forgot! when you put Molylube on your splines before you put the wire wheel back on DONT wipe the grease on along the groove use an ice lolly stick and go around it NOT along it . They are razor sharp . You only splice your finger once but you scream like hell for ages. By is it painful.

If the splines are razor sharp then they're badly worn.
I have a 900mm breaker bar to remove the nuts and use a 600mm breaker bar to tighten the nuts and use a socket purchased from Ledgerwoods. The setup works well.

Another trick, and worth a try, is to whack the nut with a rubber mallet while at the same time applying pressure to the spanner extension by standing on it. As mentioned previously, don’t jump on the spanner just apply a constant pressure. It's a bit of a balancing act and sounds daft but works in most cases.
