I saw the design pics that they released for the 3 wheeler in AUS. It is a shame, shrouded in lots of plasticy crap.
Funny you should mention car shows - I'm actually a member of the TR Register of Australia(by total fluke)! I try to get to the All British Car Day in Sydney at Kings School every year and am amazed by the size of the show and diversity of vehicles represented. It's a massive show, one of the largest in the continent I'm told, and I always end up bugging the Mog owners as I spend way too much time around their vehicles. As I understand it you have the only Max outside of Hammonds Max that made it's way to AUS? The only Aero I've seen at the show the past few years is a late (S4 I'm guessing) Aero 8 with "MOG 008" NSW tag. Were so few imported because of your stringent regulations and thus increased pricetags?

Yes, that's right! smile I ordered mine from new and it was almost 4 years later that I finally took delivery of it. Richard Hammond's car is in VIC, on the other side of the country. The distance between us is about the same as the Eastern Seaboard is to the US West Coast - one heck of a long way away! eek

For about 3 years, mine was the only Max in Oz until, that is, Hammond's [Max] was brought in from the UK by Chris Vermeulen, the MotoGP rider; and subsequently re-sold to its present owner. There is also a green S3 Aero 8 here: in short, there are only 2 Aeros in Western Australia (WA). But there are a couple of Aero 8's, Super Sports and Coupes in the Eastern states as you have probably noticed ...

The Triumph TR cars ended their production run a long time ago and falls well within the importing conditions laid down by the Dept. of Infrastructure and therefore exempted from the SEVS list; which in turn means that there is no problem importing them. It's just the post-December 1989 vehicles which is the real issue!

So if you're down my neck of the woods (in Perth) next month, do come along to the British Car Day in Gingin and meet the very enthusiastic band of WA Morganeers ...you'll be talking Morgans all day ... (Arrrrrgh!!!) scared Yep, Gingin hosts the biggest annual gathering of British cars in Perth. BTW, there is a healthy turnout by the TR Register too!

A few WA Morganeers have tried to persuade me to get a 3 wheeler; but I'm not going to pay that extra money with all the plasticy c**p fitted only to have it all removed on collection and restored to its original (intended) spec....what a blatant waste of money that is! swear

Have a great Easter! cheers

If so when did sales stop?

I'm curious to know as, I understand, once a car is 25 years old it is classified as a classic and it can be imported and used relatively easily. If so then from 2025 demand for Aeros will increase and prices should firm up...... Only 10 years to wait!

Canada allows import of cars that are 15 years old. Thus many in America monitor prices in Toronto and Vancouver to understand the market prior to the 25th year rolling around.
