I spotted that too, it's a MK1 with no gussets or bolt in brace.
My Feb.2013 car has the welded in gussets and the bolt in brace.

They all go in the same place just behind the inboard top wishbone mounting.
Sometimes near side some times drivers side
I have personally seen four cracked right through. And I have probably only met 8 owners of 2012 cars.
All will fail eventually.
