Looking at the development car in the showroom it looks far, far better in the metal than in photos.

I do tend to agree with Ken;s view, it is a bit 1950s "luscious"...and nothing wrong with that!

It's the lesser of evils isn't it?

The rear clamshell encloses the hood when down, so lovely clean lines with no 'pram hood' visible or need to faff around with hood covers to stop it flapping around at high speed.

This is the first time I've been tempted to swap the 'Max for something that offers top-down motoring in something that looks almost as nice. Can't wait to drive the new aero chassis and feel the difference - For touring, I suspect I might prefer something a bit more supple (softer spring settings with ARBs, elastomer bushes not rose joints etc). The purists will moan but my ar5e is more important than what other people think.

I wonder whether there is a cover to go over the stored roof to give that smooth integrated look hood down.

the way the edge of the door leads into the edge of the clamshell makes for an elegant and flowing design.

It looks very indulgent with the roof down - and the proportions make more sense (IMHO). The show car colours may have helped in that.

Those dimensions they quote look completely wrong...different length and height between the auto and the manual.

And the manual version is 80kgs heavier than the automatic, according to that.
