I'd love to see the tour guide's face when you ask where the section is that makes the ash frame! hide laugh2

I did the mini factory tour last month with TaffMog. Great fun & the guide did say that one lady came to see her car being built and was walking along beside it for 6 hrs as she knew the VIN.

Had a couple of petrol Coopers - great cars but stay away from Run Flats - they ruin a good car in my opinion ( and wallet )

We bought an ex-demo Cooper S Auto 2011 some time back and it has been excellent. Good lady loves it to bits. Lots of goodies as the ex-demo car and solid.

Service (BMW/Mini Basingrad and Reading) have both been top notch.

I love driving it as well. If only they could fit a V8. Ahem.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

My wife loved her R56, but she did not like all of the issues that it had. If you do go with a Mini, get the extended/aftermarket warranty; if it weren't for that my wife's Mini would have cost us a fortune to keep running.

Her Mini was an '07 with only 5,000 miles on it when we got it, and 25,000 miles on it when we traded it in. The Mini spent over a year of the six that we owned it at the dealership having everything fixed from the HPFP to the drive belt to a cracked manifold. The worst of it was as soon as it got cold outside the Mini wouldn't stay running, so it would sit from November to April at the dealership and then be magically "fixed" once it warmed up outside, only to stall at idle when the temperature dropped the next November.

We traded it in for a 2015 Subaru WRX STI Launch Edition and I don't think that the wife misses the Mini. With the STIs awd, 4 doors, Launch Edition being 1 of 1000 made, 305 hp and 290 ftlb torque, it is quite a bit more car.

We have had our new Cooper for a year now. Close to 13k miles. It has the 1500 cc twin turbo engine and is a " blast" to drive. We could not justify the extra cost of an S model as the new lump is so much better than the old one. Zippy and still getting over 37mpg. Now that they have a 4 door model we might switch to that when our lease is up. Can't say enough good things about it.

Did you frighten him into submission, refusing to let him out until he agreed to replace it? laugh2
