I think the word blunt might refer to the end the last sound came out when someone was told the price they are asking for the car !

I hope some of that goes to Charles if that is really the price.

I would say that "that will be around for some time" but given the weird nature of this world it will now probably sell tomorrow.

Why would the previous user of a company car get the money from the sale of a corporate asset?

As a shareholder who receives dividends paid out of company profits - he might see a little bit.

Stuart

it was a flip comment based on the fact that the project to build the Aero was a response to the Sir John Harvey Jones program. Charles got on with it.

Given the somewhat inflated amount they are asking and his long term involvement in the toys we all love I just felt that a gesture was warranted. I don't seriously expect it to occur. I am mad but not that deranged.

I don't know or claim to have knowledge of the events that have taken place. I just remain sad around the outcome. I don't mean that as a reflection on the old management or new.

Selling the factory, engines, motorsport etc etc. I dont judge them. I am far from perfect, my wife reminds me of this often enough. For some reason she still puts up with me.

I agree that all us Aero-lovers owe a huge debt of gratitude to Charles. His Dad may have introduced a V8 engine format to the Morgan range, but Charles made sure it got a chassis that was the equal of that performance potential.

I bought the second prototype/show AeroMax from MMC, with the 4.8L engine which was used to develop the autobox and CM agreed that the number AR08 MMC went with the car.

When I sold it to Rich (mr_tony) I felt that the number should stay with the car as it was part of its provenance, and luckily when Rich sold it on the registration number again remained with the car. I don't think that the new owner is a member of TM, he certainly doesn't post here.

The car has been kept in excellent condition and was recently back at the Works for a refurb and partial respray in the AeroMax signature "Liquid Mercury" paint, which if I remember correctly is an AMG colour; not MacLaren. It was recently featured in MogMag as part of their end of the Aero 8 feature...

Here's a couple of pictures from its past with me, the photos were taken by George Williams when he was still an Accountancy Student:

Probably the best review of the AeroMax ever by Monkey Harris when he was with the late lamented Drivers Republic Enjoy!

I'm still massively regretting selling it too. My FF is a better car in just about every measurable way but the feeling of belting down the back roads to Goodwood on a sunny Sunday morning with the side pipes going full chat is hard to beat
Here's another gratuitous picture..

If I can't buy this back off the owner at some point I will have another.
