Talking about which, have you had a good look at the current Norton bikes? Beautiful engineering if a bit old fashioned ie with steel frame, twin shocks etc.

Beautiful indeed, Many years ago a friend of mine, now sadly no longer with us used to sprint one similar, the 3 wheeler boys may remember Ernie Woods from the Morgan 3 wheeler club, he had one and had a lot of success with it, I believe it is still around now and run at special events. As a side note one of the first official 200mph runs in this country was at RAF Honnington and clocked 206mph in the early 70s, using a somewhat modified V twin JAP and ridden and built by Alf Hagon.

Thanks for that contribution swissmog fascinating bit of history - the sound must be just wonderful and I can't imagine trying to hang on at that speed, it must have been faired.
