Update no. 1 Stratstone have checked the prop shaft and rear axle bolts and confirm all are tight. They reported a noticeable clunk on their test drive just as I described so have sent the car back to the factory for a full diagnosis.

I have been told by the factory it's worth checking every 500/1000 miles depending how much stick you give the car I guess it's supposed to be one of the main things to check every service but dealers don't seem to know about this ? So you don't have to grease the kingpins now but instead you get to check the prop shaft bolts instead?

Update no.2 It's fixed. I collected the car from Stratstone on Monday evening - they told me that they had tightened all bolts at the rear of the car including the rear sub-frame which cured the problem. Unfortunately on the way home I noticed the air conditioning no longer works - a job for the next service before the warranty runs out.

Great to hear you're back on the road, if not warmer than planned.
Might be worth a quick check under the dash etc. to see if it's anything obvious.

Remember the A/C doesn't work if the heater fan is turned to "off"... The A/C light flashes and nothig happens. Wiscos beat me to the post!
