Roger she is now saying how do we know that they all do that?
Which interpreted means she will now have to press it to prove to herself and us that they do or don't all do that, 0ugger.
After 43 years of marriage you get to know a little of what to expect not much just a little. She is my work in progress and I think I thank you for your help and advice I'll let you know if the dash swallows the button or spits it out on the mats or hopefully no reaction, but try she will. You're welcome Richard! In my mind it's pointless having a button if it isn't pressed otherwise why would it be there?

As an ex installation and commissioning engineer + project engineering of terrestrial Navigation transmitting stations overseas and in the later days of my career UK and Eire you can see I got to press quite a few buttons, so like you Roger if it's there it has to be tested whatever it is.

It's a cracker - one of my all time favourites And Restaurant at the End of the Universe as well of course His first Dirk Gently book has a few funny bits in it as well Other memorably funny books where I've laughed out loud are : Clive James - Unforgettable Memoirs and Steven Frys first Novel ( can't remember the name)

Sounds a bit like... Whatever you do, don't press that. That comment means they WILL press it out of curiosity! It happened on machines in our factory..... A bit like the "Wet Paint" sign.... you know you want to test it!  Curiosity is what kills us and protects those that have witnessed it in a danger zone - just like the "wet paint" sign it has to be done once at least, mind it's not normally lethal...

Curiosity is what kills us and protects those that have witnessed it in a danger zone - just like the "wet paint" sign it has to be done once at least, mind it's not normally lethal...
The best "wet paint" sign I've seen was in the men's toilets in a pub in Oxfordshire some years ago. On the wall above the (long trough-style) urinals: WET PAINT
