Does anyone have any experience with these LED headlights? They are rather expensive, but I need to get a set of E-marked DRL-lights. If the headlights are improved, it would be a bonus. Harald

I test fitted them on Tarka and they work, but for CanBus cars a loading resistor is needed on the side lights to stop the "bulb failure" warning light. Yes, they are expensive: there are other options available at half the price on line: LED Option 1 LED Option 2 I've bought from the first supplier before, but if spending hundreds I'd rather go to a physical supplier I know, so Williams may well get my business. MMC has a version for the new AR Plus 4 that look a bit like Option 2. I've no idea how much they cost from MMC. All of them are aimed at the Land Rover Defender market, they are MOT legal (unike HIDs) give out a lot of light, but the look takes some getting used to. I'll upgrade before the winter.

I actually find the standard lights quite good. I would not bother changing. I fitted a set of driving lights that are wired to high beam if i feel I need more light. They look the part too.

Excuse my ignorance
What is the 'E' mark - I've seen it being referred to on a number of occasions and why is it important ?

It's a European standard. But complicated in that old lights on old cars don't have e marks and you may struggle to find an e mark on a newer car, even though they are compliant.

They are generally printed on these days instead of moulded in the glass.

They are generally printed on these days instead of moulded in the glass. And no one looks for them. The MOT test only requires that the light pattern conforms with the specified requirement. I suppose manufacturers have to buy conforming parts when they manufacture the car. But in the UK after marketparts do not have to conform to any standard, unlike Germany where everything has to be "TUV" approved before it can be sold. Even a roadside VOSA check isn't allowed to remove/take appart anything to look for "E" markings, unless the car is confiscated for a full engineering inspection. So it seemms that the E marking is largely meaningless, at least in the UK.
