Obviously I have all the relays/fuses, test circuits, torch, Hi-Vis etc. Don't forget a piece of wood to stand the jack on if the ground is soft (and if you have a spare wheel).

For long trips in my M3W I take in no particular order:
Metric ring spanner set plus 24mm and 36mm spanners, 3/8 socket set metric and A/F, large adjustable spanner, mole grips, Allen keys metric and imperial, couple of screwdrivers, tyre levers, spare inner tube, tyre inflator, scissor jack, large plastic cable ties, large metal cable ties, gaffer tape, spare cam belt and dowels, spare throttle cable, spare rubber bobbins, used to have spare rectifier until I used it, mobile phone and insurance.
All of that fits under the bonnet.

WD40, Gaffer Tape, Hammer.
If it should move & doesn`t-- WD40
If it shouldn`t move & does --- Gaffer Tape
If you can`t fix it with a hammer it`s an electrical problem.

AA card & mobile phone. Never let me down yet! (The car that is - not the AA card...)

Damm, now I've got tool case envy!

Do you also have the wheel nut wrench or have you got eared spinners?

While it's a oft quoted mantra, WD40 is largely useless. It displaces moisture by attracting it and allowing the moisture to fall away with excess WD40. It's a rubbish lubricant, just about any proper oil is better.

Glad to see so many votes for cable/zip ties. I've even fixed the rear spring shackle on a luton bodied transit with one!
